ACH Volley claim topspot in the standing

When playing on Friday in Myjava last year's gold medal winners ACH Volley LJUBLJANA extended their winning streak in the 2016/2017 MEVZA Cup edition to three matches in a row.

Slovenia's CEV Champions League participants defeated hosts Spartak MYJAVA 3:1 (31:33, 25:19, 25:17, 25:23) to claim the top spot in the current standing, one point clear of Bystrina SPU NITRA (SVK). Ziga Stern top scored for ACH Volley with 27 points.

In the women's competition hosts VK UP OLOMOUC had to stand a tough fight to edge SG VB NÖ Sokol/Post SV 3:2 (25:20, 20:25, 18:25, 25:18, 15:10). Austria's champions lost for the fourth time this saeson, while the Czechs celebrated their second win in their fourth match.

MEVZA Cup will continue next Friday when Calcit Volleyball KAMNIK (SLO) will clash with Mladost Ribola KASTELA (CRO).
